The people who have Christ by Richard Roberts

Richard Roberts Comments Off

In Deuteronomy, chapter 1, beginning at verse 5, “On this side Jordan, in the land of Moab, began Moses to declare this law, saying, The Lord our God spake unto us in Horeb, saying, Ye have dwelt long enough in this mount:  Turn you, and take your journey, and go to the mount of the Amorites, and unto all the places nigh thereunto, in the plain, in the hills, and in the vale, and in the south, and by the sea side, to the land of the Canaanites, and unto Lebanon, unto the great river, the river Euphrates.

“Behold, I have set the land before you.”  Please notice that he said, “I have set the land.”  Everybody say, the land. (Response)  “I have set the land before you: go in and possess the land.”  Everybody say, possess the land.  (Response)  Now say it three times.  (Response)  “Which the Lord sware unto your fathers.”  Please notice who He swore it to, “unto your fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give unto them and to their seed after them.”

I want you to hold your place there and turn to Galatians 3:29, and let us notice what is said there about the seed of Abraham and who they are.  In Galatians, Paul is speaking from the 3rd chapter and the 29th verse, he says, “And if ye be Christ’s” … who in this audience belongs to Jesus Christ? … “then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.”

Now look back at Deuteronomy again, let’s see, at verse 8, “Behold, I have set the land before you: go in and possess the land which the Lord sware unto your fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give unto them and to their seed after them.”

Now who is the seed of Abraham?  The people who have Christ.  That’s us sitting right here in this building.  “The Lord your God,” let’s see, verse 9, I skipped that.  “And I spake unto you at that time, saying, I am not able to bear you myself alone: The Lord your God hath multiplied you, and, behold, ye are this day as the stars of heaven for multitude.”

Now the text is in verse 11.  “The Lord God of your fathers make you a thousand times so many more as ye are, and bless you, as he hath promised.”  Now notice again in Galatians 3:19 that, “If ye be Christ’s, then are you Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.”

God showed me one more thing by Richard Roberts

Richard Roberts Comments Off

. . . all of my energy and all of my anointing and all of my effort.  And I can spend it like you spend money.  And think of energy like bolts.  You can take those bolts of energy, and you can use them and you can properly spend them.  And you can spend them right, or you can spend them wrong.

You can spend all your time and all your sustenance and all your substance and do it right or do it wrong.  But it’s up to you to control it.

And so I said, “Okay, what are You showing me here?”  And the Lord showed me this.  We went and did an experiment, same amount of wood, same amount of nails, same amount of time.

And you have one of two choices with your container.  You can build yourself a house in glory, a mansion, a place to send your children, your friends, your energy, your anointing, your loved ones, or the same amount of energy, the same amount of nails and the same amount of wood, you can build yourself a pine box.  You can build yourself a home, or you can build yourself a coffin.  And it’s all how you spend your substance.

God showed me one more thing in my container, and I thought this was the dumbest thing I have ever seen.  And there it was.  I was looking at my substance, and He said, “What’s in your container?”

And do you remember, ladies, when we used to carry purses like that because they looked cool?  And what did you get in them?  Absolutely nothing, and you stuffed your husband’s pockets.  How many of you remember, we put in a lipstick and a dollar bill?  That is the dumbest, poorest excuse for a container in the world.

Every woman knows that a container—you know what, these are Souls A’Fire music.  Somebody come and pass these out to everybody.  Brenda, help me.  Pass these out.  Everybody needs something here.  Let’s pass these out.  I don’t know how they got there, but you know what?  While I’m pulling my container up, you go give those away, would you?  Oh, sure, give them all away.  There’s ORU, DVD’s, oh, pass it all out.

Now you can either take your time and get yourself a container that’s as worthless as the day is long, or spend the exact same amount of money on a real container.

New revelation by Richard Roberts

Richard Roberts Comments Off

And next to the sofa where I sat was a bucket.  So when the cameras was off of me, I’d vomit my guts out, wipe my face, drink down something called Emetrol, and I’d smile like nothing ever happened.

And, meanwhile, they’d go to sing a song, and I’d puke again.  And this would go on for the entire live hour that we were on television.  But God was telling me that what I thought of my substance and what He thought of my substance might have been two different things.

This says the world uses all kinds of gimmicks to raise the salesman’s self-image, for the image he has of himself will either set him free to reach new horizons, or hold him in poverty.

Is your substance setting you free to reach new horizons, or are you, spiritually speaking, in poverty and darkness because you’re not tapped in to the substance that God has created for you to walk into and when you walk into, all the glory of God will come shining through you?

I want to show you how we can find that substance very, very easily.  We’re going to talk in a little bit about what Richard was talking about earlier.  Oral has had a new revelation.  Charles, the day you think he’s written his last book, he hasn’t.  He’s got a new revelation.  You know that revelation.  It’s on the Lord of the harvest.

He called us the other day, and he said, “When’s the conference over?”

We said, “Well, it’s over Thursday.”

He said, “Thursday afternoon?  Can you get on an airplane and come because we’re going to write a new book?”

I said, “No!”  So hopefully he’s going to give me till the weekend.

But God’s given him a revelation about the Lord of the harvest, that we’ve got something inside of us and that something, that substance is to be used as a seed.  And when we sow that seed, we have the right to call on the Lord of the harvest to reap anything and everything God has for us.

Well, I want to ask you a question.  How do you know how to get the harvest if you’ve never planted a seed?  You’ve got to plant the right seed, the seed of your substance, in order to reach God’s harvest.

The Lord Jesus Christ by Richard Roberts

Richard Roberts Comments Off

. . . amazing.  It will be like what happened on campuses of old, but it will even be surpassing that because of the hour in which we live.  And it will not be just this, but this will be like a key place for it.

And we will win the NCAA.  (Applause)  Now don’t you schedule this next year during the NCAA.

RR: Billye, that is spiritual.

BB: All right.  I know it is, but I didn’t know if they knew it.

RR: Basketball will make a better Christian out of you.

BB: One time when my son, Chip Brim, Kelly Clark here in this town was coaching at Yale High School basketball.  My son was also a coach there of baseball, and he was announcing the basketball game.

And they had a hotshot player.  And I’m sitting with Chip, my son, in the announcer’s booth.  And he said, “Mom, isn’t that Brother Roberts way up there on that other side, Brother Richard?”

I said, “Yeah, it is.”  And I went all the way around, climbed up.  When I got there, Brother Oral Roberts was sitting there and he said, “Do you like basketball?”

I said, “I sure do.”

He said, “Good.  It will make a better Christian out of you.”  I took it as a word from the Lord, and I have not departed from it since.

Now I am a basketball fan.  But here’s what God told Brother Roberts.  He told him to go into every man’s world.  He told him to have a platform for the Lord Jesus Christ.

We started off here at ORU, and I mean we were beating everybody’s socks off.  And we’re going to beat everybody’s socks off again, bless the Lord.

And I have a lot of friends that are basketball coaches.  I have a son that’s a coach.  I live in a family like this.  And we see that when we need to recruit the very best players here at ORU, we’re not battling out there with universities in this world that have a whole lot to give them an offer.  We’ve got something to offer that’s above anything else that they have.  We have the anointing of the most high God.  We have (tongues) the Creator of the universe on here.

A Holy Ghost University by Richard Roberts

Richard Roberts Comments Off

This is a Holy Ghost university.  My father at 89—I wish he were here tonight.  I don’t know if this room could contain him if he was here—but he knows this service is in session right now.  He’s in his home now in California.  He’s praying tonight.  He knows exactly what’s going on.  And if he doesn’t know exactly what’s being said, the Holy Spirit will reveal it to him.  Oftentimes I call him, and he will tell me what went on in a service.

But God said to him, “You build Me a university.  You build it on My authority.  The world has theirs.  You build Me one.  You build it on My authority, and you build it on the Holy Ghost.”

And then He said, “You raise up your students”—every student here, put your hand up.  Listen, this was a word of prophecy to you.  He said, “You raise up your students to hear My voice, and to go where My light is seen dim, where My voice is heard small, where My power is not known, even to the uttermost bounds of the earth.  Their work will exceed yours, Oral Roberts, and in that I am well pleased.”

I said to my father—thank you, students.  I said to my father recently, “Your ministry will never die as long as we, your students and graduates, are on this earth.”  (Applause)

This last spring, the Lord spoke to me and said, “Take a census of all the students, all the student ministries on campus, off campus, all the alumni, all over the world, all those who are laboring for the Lord in the vineyards all over this earth.  Take a census and see how many they’ve won to Christ this year.”

It took me three weeks of phone calls and e-mails all over the world.  And when the numbers came in, the greater ORU community won 660,000 people to the Lord last year.  (Applause)  That’s through a university.  And we set a goal this year of 1.2 million, to double it, in the authority of Jesus’ name.

Time as we know it is running out.  And we’ve got to work while we have the ability to work.  And that’s why we’re joining together in this conference.  This is not a parking lot.  This is a filling station.  This is where you come and you get filled.

The Holy Ghost by Richard Roberts

Richard Roberts Comments Off

I’m expecting a word to be imparted.  I’m expecting you to receive something mighty from God.  And, Lindsay, I’m expecting the anointing of the Holy Ghost to be upon you now.  I want you to stretch your hands out toward her.

This is the woman that God has put by my side.  She and I are one.  And that’s what we’re supposed to be in ministry.  Thank God for it.  We have the same calling, the same fire in our bellies.  And it’s for you, in the authority of Jesus’ name.

Father, in the authority of Jesus’ name, I thank You for this precious woman of God, a mother of Israel, as it has been prophesied over her.  I thank You, Lord, that as she opens the Word of God to us tonight that something is illuminated in our minds and in our spirits as we receive the Word of God and that from this place tonight as we go, we’ll never be the same again.

Thank You, Lord, that as I follow her tonight and as we have our time of healing prayer and time of prayer of deliverance and rejuvenation, thank You, Lord, that the Holy Spirit is covering us all.  I bless You, Father, and thank You and praise You, in Christ’s name, and everybody said amen.  Give the Lord one more shout of praise.  Hallelujah!  God bless you, Lindsay, and anoint you, in the name of Jesus.

LR: Well, good evening.  How many of you know that faith is in the Bible?  How many of you know that Hebrews 11 is in the Bible?  I bet so many people in this audience could jump up and quote Hebrews 11, “Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not yet seen.”

And we hear faith messages and faith messages, and we’d better hear faith messages, because four times in the Bible God says, “The just shall live by faith.”  And so we get this message of faith, and we get this message of faith, and we get this message of faith, and we think we’ve got this message of faith.

And then a couple of months ago, I go to Oral Roberts, and he grabs Hebrews 11, and he says, “Sit down because you’ve missed the whole thing.”  That is so not refreshing.

So I said, “Okay, let’s start all over again.”

So he said, “Faith is the substance of things hoped for, and the evidence of things not yet seen.”

I said, “Okay, I knew that.”

The International Charismatic Bible Ministries by Richard Roberts

Richard Roberts Comments Off

The International Charismatic Bible Ministries is a vehicle for informing and educating ministers in the area of establishing and accrediting Christian schools, assisting in long distance education and degree completion.

ICBM is a vehicle for Spirit-led, Spirit-filled ministers of the gospel to meet periodically to share their insight into God’s Word and, through sharing, to provide both encouragement and a checks and balances approach to our ministries.

And, finally, ICBM provides mutual appreciation and combined strength, helping ministers meet the needs of people, operating fully in the gifts of the Holy Spirit and by our unity and love through mighty signs and wonders.

Now this is the founding of ICBM.  And this morning and this afternoon in our annual board meeting, we took this into our hearts once again and revisited the beginnings, the foundings.  It is said, “You will never know where you’re going until you know where you have been.”  You must never forget your roots.  You must not forget where you have come from.

This fellowship was designed for men and women across America, Canada, nations all over the earth who are in need of ministry themselves.  And no one needs ministry more than those of us who minister.  Can you say amen?

How many of you came to get filled with the Word of God this week?  How many of you have a need in your life, and you came based on that?  Some of you may be here and you think, “This is my last hope.”  There may be someone here tonight who’s been thinking about quitting the ministry.  We talked about that today.  Well, this is for you.

And there were a number of words that came out of this that are very important, words like unity and fellowship and signs and wonders and praying and the Word, inspiration, support, crises, education, and instrument, planning, vehicle, new insights and revelation, checks and balances, mutual appreciation, combined strength, and updated information.  That’s what the ICBM is all about.

I want you to meet the vice chairman of ICBM, Pastor Happy Caldwell.  Give him a big welcome.  Happy, come down just a moment.  (Applause)  Share a word about what we talked about in the executive committee meeting and also as well as the main board session this afternoon.

The things of God by Richard Roberts

Richard Roberts Comments Off

But you know what?  Those same people got up and they bought Ted Turner, and they put on CNN, and they buy music in the music stores, and they rent videos in the video stores.  And they go and see Hollywood’s movies, who are teaching your kids sex, sin, decadence, and every other piece of garbage that’s on the face of the earth.  They preach against preachers.  They suddenly put in their innuendoes.  They quietly tell you this and that.  They say things that are so left wing and racial right wing.  And if you stand up for the things of God, you’re a jerk. You’re a fool, and everything else.

So then you sit back and you say, “Do you know what they said about Oral Roberts?”  And the next thing you know, you talked about it and you talked about it and you talked about it, and you know you did and you know we did, and you know everybody else did.  Instead of saying, “Shut up” to your cable operator, and saying, “Come and rip that stuff out of my house.  You ever talk about a man of God like that again, and I’m going to cut the cable cord myself.”  And go to every person in your church and say, “Boycott the newspapers, boycott the Burger Kings.”

Do you know what they sell?  Do you know what Disney sells?  Does it bother you that Disney has a day for gay and lesbians?  Does it bother you that people in Walt Disney World, who are their employees, can have insurance for their significant other half?  But if you’re not married and you’re living with a man and you’re a girl, you can’t get insurance for your significant other half?  What am I thinking?  But yet, you know, we go buy them out.

How long are you going to tolerate the spirit Jezebel that’s in the church?  Oh, we tolerate all this stuff.  We tolerate the Lion King because the little lion’s so cute.  Who produced it?  Who directed it? What are they telling you?  What Disney movie doesn’t have a mother? Where’s Snow White’s mother?  Where’s Arial’s mother?  Where’s Beauty and the Beast?  Where’s Bell’s mother?  Where are they?  In family values, where’s the mother?

“The wealth of the sinner is laid up for the righteous?” by Richard Roberts

Richard Roberts Comments Off

Let’s look at sports on television.  Now baseball tonight.  Now I want to tell you that I’m one of the biggest baseball fans in the universe. I grew up in Detroit Tiger Baseball.  I think Al Kayline’s cool.  I tell you, baseball is good.  But when baseball becomes more important than anything else that God has to offer and the things of the world-remember the Scripture that says, “The wealth of the sinner is laid up for the righteous?”  If you don’t have what they have, then you’re going to begin to lust after it.  And they’re going to begin to set the example for our children and our children’s children.

And as that happens, if we don’t measure up to what the things of the world has to offer and the wealth of the wicked is not laid up for the righteous, it’s only in the hands of everybody but the righteous, then the people of this world are not going to be attracted to the things of God.  They’re going to be attracted to the things of the world. Now if I read the Bible right, we’ve got it mixed up because not only were you the sickest bunch, you were the poorest bunch.  Is that correct?  All right.

I took thirteen baseball players, just thirteen, thirteen contracts for baseball only, thirteen.  Say thirteen.  (Thirteen)  During the season they play 162 games, and I’m giving you the money of only thirteen baseball players.  Ken Griffey, Jr., Kevin Brown, Mike Piazza(sp), Bernie Williams-I’ll go on and on and on, but there’s thirteen of them. Ken Griffey, Jr.?s contract is over a nine-year period, $116.5 million; Kevin Brown is $105 million; Mike Piazzo; $91 million; Bernie Williams is $87.5 million, Shawn Green, $84 million; Mo Vaughn, $80 million; Pedro Martinez, $75 million; Lanny Walker, $75 million-I’m sorry, Larry Walker-Gary Sheffield, $68.5 million; Albert Bell was only $60 million; ____ Mondezzi(sp), $50 million; Gary Maddox, or Greg Maddox, $57.5 million; and Randy Johnson from Arizona was only on the bottom of the list with a meager $52.4 million.

Those thirteen players alone added up at the highest baseball salaries to one billion-I’m only talking about thirteen guys and 162 games per season-one billion, seventeen million, four hundred thousand dollars. What did you get paid last week?  Just checking.  Do you know that the lowest guy on that pole, Randy Johnson from Arizona, single-handedly $52.4 million, his contract alone could wipe out the debt at Oral Roberts University.  What’s wrong with this picture?  We are to be the what and not the what?  Keep thinking, guys.

God is like Hallmark by Richard Roberts

Richard Roberts Comments Off

You go figure.  Cursed is the man that hangeth on the tree so that that blessing that was pronounced in the earth thousands of years ago will come upon you and you and you and you and me so that we live in the blessing of Abraham.

Jesus died on the cross and shed every single drop of blood so that the blessing of Abraham, pronounced thousands of years ago, might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus. If you don’t have it, it’s not God’s fault! APPLAUSE   God is like American Express.  Don’t leave home without Him.  God is like your coffee.  He is the best part of waking up.  God is like Coke.  He is the real thing.

God is like Timex.  He takes a licking and keeps on ticking.  God is like Hallmark.  He cared enough to send the very best.

But most of all, God is Pepsi.  He is the right one, baby, uh huh.  It’s time we got it all back.  CHEERS  All of it. Did you get what you came for?  If not, get up and begin to declare it, now!  CHEERS  Call it back into the kingdom of God!  Christ went to the cross and shed His blood so you get it today.  CHEERS  If you’ve missed it for forty- six years, pull it back and call it into the kingdom today. APPLAUSE  CHEERS

Declare what’s rightfully yours.  You are to rule and reign with Christ Jesus.  That means you’re a king and a priest.  If you’re not, you’re not living right.  If you don’t have it all, you are robbing yourself.  You are a thief and a robber if you are not doing what God said to do.  God poured it out to you, and if you are living in poverty, you stole something that’s not rightfully yours.  You’re a thief.

If you’re living in sickness, you stole something straight from hell that’s not rightfully yours.  You’re a thief and a robber if you’re living in sickness.  And God says, “Stop it!”  Get the blessing of Abraham.  It took Him Melchizedek, and it took Him Abraham, and it took Him Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.  And it took Him Malachi, and then it took Him Jesus.  Don’t miss what God has for you.  APPLAUSE

Don’t be too proud.  Don’t be too poor.  Don’t be too humble.  Be a king and a priest and it’s time to rule and reign.  CHEERS  APPLAUSE  In Jesus’ Name.  CHEERS  APPLAUSE

RR:  Hallelujah!  Hallelujah!  Are you getting what you came for?  CHEERS  APPLAUSE
