You Can Plant In The Seed of Faith By Richard Roberts

You Can Plant In The Seed of Faith By Richard Roberts

You say, “Richard Roberts, what can I do?” You can plant a Seed-Faith gift on a regular monthly basis. Now here is the reason why I say regular monthly basis. Because it costs money to operate the university every month. The bills don’t stop coming just because a partner says, “Well, I’m not going to send a Seed-Faith gift this month.” The bills of Oral Roberts University go on 12 months a year. And the good news is, we’re 85% there.

We just got 15% to go to take care of the expenses, the operation of the university. And then of course, John, you brought a good word about endowment. Oral Roberts University has got to be endowed. It’s got to be endowed. There are some people in this nation who have a lot of money and it’s not doing any good for them. They need to invest it in God’s university, to endow a school of medicine, to endow a school of education at Oral Roberts University, to endow a school of business, or a school of something else, a school of ministry.

The school of dentistry is endowed here at Oral Roberts University by a family in Pennsylvania. And there are several, several large gifts that
have come in, but most of the gifts that come in to the Oral Roberts Ministry are not large gifts. But there are several people watching today, I believe God is speaking to your heart about making a major gift. There’s a man who is watching this program who is on a board of trustees of a large foundation in this country and you’ve been, you’ve been in meetings trying to decide what you’re going to do with all that money that the government is forcing you to give away.

Healing Health Line Between You And God By Richard Roberts

Richard Roberts wants to share something to you. And, friend, I stretch out my hand to you today, praying for your doors not to close. I pray today, in the name and in the authority of the name of Jesus, for you to be healed spiritually, for you to be healed in your body, from the crown of your head to the soles of your feet, for you to be healed in your emotions and your mind, for you to be healed in your family and for the doors of your life to remain open. And for that healing health line between you and God to stay clear.

I pray for you today, friend, and I believe and I expect and I’m talking faith talk today. I’m not talking doubt talk. And I urge you, sit down this week, write us a letter. Write me, Richard Roberts. Write my dad,
Oral Roberts. Plant a seed of your faith and say, Brother Roberts, I’m going to do it on a monthly basis, a regular basis, to help you with that 15% of Oral Roberts University that we haveto go.

It’s a faith talk, friend. It’s a faith talk. We can do it. We can do it together. We can see victory in the life of Oral Roberts University. I’m praying, I’m believing and I’m expecting it. So take these words with you all day long, no matter what it looks like, God can turn it around in your life through faith talk, not doubt talk.

Richard would like you to get involved in this ministry with both your prayers and support. Send your Seed-Faith gift to Richard Roberts, Tulsa, Oklahoma. Or call 1-918-495-7777. And when you write or call, be sure to include your prayer requests. The Abundant Life Prayer Partners are on duty 24 hours a day and are ready to help you get your needs met. Go to your phone right now. I’m Bill Nordstrom, inviting you to join us again tomorrow, along with special guests Laverne and Edith Tripp. And remember, God can turn it around in your life.

Wherever I Go I Saw God By Richard Roberts

Wherever I Go I Saw God By Richard Roberts

John, somebody would say to me, Richard Roberts, what can I do? What can I do? Here’s what you can do. You can keep your university opened. See, this isn’t our university.

It’s your university. I, Richard Roberts, don’t know anyone who hasn’t come into contact with a graduate of Oral Roberts University. Practically everyone I know has said to me at some time, “I saw one of your students,” or “I heard from one of your graduates,” or “I went to some medical clinic and they were there,” or “I went into some dentist’s office,” or “I went to, I was at some church,” or “One of the graduates from the undergraduate school,” or “I talked to one of your nurses.”

Practically everyone I know has said to me, “Wherever I go, I meet the Oral Roberts University graduates.” Tommy Tyson was on our program recently from North Carolina, wonderful evangelist, the founding chaplain of Oral Roberts University. He said, “I can’t go anywhere without running into your ORU graduates.”

Jimmy Buskirk, the founding dean of the school of ministry here at Oral Roberts University, now the Methodist pastor of First Methodist Church here in Tulsa, our dear friend, and comes on the program quite often, said to me, “I cannot go any place in this nation to preach without running into a graduate of Oral Roberts University.”

The Word Of God by Richard Roberts

The Word of God by Richard Roberts

Richard Roberts has a story to share. That makes, that’s the difference. You can understand that being in the ministry. You understand that because you’re not working for a job, you’re not working for an institution. You’re not working for the establishment, so to say, so to speak. You’re working for God and it’s your ministry. And so every time a nurse goes in there she’s not just working on a patient that she learned in the college or something, she is actually ministering.

And ministry, the definition that I have come up for ministry, now there’s many definitions, but one of them is, giving of yourself so that others can be blessed. And that’s what they feel. That’s the difference that they feel in this whole place. That’s why when you walk in this place, honey, you feel it because people are ministering, doing what God has called them to do in a ministry. That makes it entirely different.

Now, Ken, let me ask you this question. You’re Kenneth Hagin’s son. I’m Oral Roberts’ son. We have a lot in common. Of course you’re a little older than I am. A year or two. But, Ken, someone … Not a few years. Oh, no, no, no, you’re not too much older. But someone may be watching today and they said, “But now, wait a minute. Ken Hagin, you’re a man of faith.” “What are you doing with your son and your wife in a medical center?”

Well, number one, is that I have never been against medicine. Now let’s go back to the Word of God. The Word of God says, “Every good and perfect gift cometh down from the father above,” right? Yes, that’s what it says. Then healing is good, whether it’s coming from God, which is divine healing, or through medical science, which is considered medical healing. They’re both from God. It’s all coming from God.

It’s all coming from God. Now, there is divine healing, where God actually intervenes and divinely … Supernatural miracle. Supernaturally does something. Someone watching this program bring a word of knowledge, an ear pops open, hearing, that’s a supernatural miracle, cannot be denied.

Spirit of Life by Richard Roberts

Lindsay Roberts, Richard Roberts No Comments »

All through the surgery and everything. He kept going in, during the surgery they allowed him to go in, actually put on a mask and everything, he would go in and check because it was 12 hours. Craig was in there 12 hours. That’s a long surgery. Right, and you can get awful nervous and frustrated sitting out there in that waiting room, but I guess about every hour and a half David would go in and he’d come back and give us a report, which is fantastic.

And they don’t do that just because of, you know, my name’s Hagin. They do that with a lot of people because I heard him reporting to other people that were there also. That’s something very special about the City of Faith. Oh yes. And they were talking here a while ago and you were talking about, they were talking about the atmosphere at the City of Faith. And I’ve been a minister since I was 18 and I’ve been in the ministry about 27 years.

I’ve been in a lot of hospitals. You walk into most hospitals and you feel a spirit of death, depression. But you walk in this hospital and you feel life. The clinic and the research tower. The clinic, the whole place is full of life because God’s life is here, that life. And you asked Dr. Winslow and the nurse and they were talking about, what is the, what is the difference, what do the people feel from the doctors and the nurses and the aides, everybody that’s here, what do they feel, the technicians, etc., that makes it so different than any other
hospital?

And they said, well caring, etc. But you know, as I was sitting there the Lord dropped in my heart this, and He says, they were talking about, you know, not just doing it for a paycheck, etc. The Lord dropped into my heart, the difference that the people feel is the fact that every doctor, every nurse, every individual is doing the ministry that God called them to do so therefore it becomes a ministry and not a job. It is a ministry.

Top Of The Stairs by Richard Roberts

Top Of The Stairs by Richard Roberts

Richard Roberts has a story to share. Right. In fact, I don’t really think I ever got my eyes opened till I got to the top of the stairs. By that time I was crawling on my hands and knees. I guess I’d fallen down on the stairs going up, you know. I was just that, you know, come out of a dead sleep. And he was laying in the middle of his floor rolling, holding his head. Well, I knew we had a problem. We began to pray and got some, you know, some immediately relief, but then at, what, nine o’clock I think, we were right out here
at the City of Faith.

And the doctors and the technicians, it was tremendous, I can’t say enough about the hospital and the clinic and the doctors and the technicians. And at that time Dr. Pat Lester was involved in the radiology, etc., and … Still is. And he was, he was involved in all of the tests that they were running, etc., and he came out and … And Dr. Woosley was involved too. Oh yeah, Dr. Woosley. I’m going to get to him. He’s the important one. He’s the one that did the operation. Well, let me say this, Craig is fully recovered.

When he left the hospital in the first of, about the third or fourth of February of ‘83, he was down below a hundred pounds. He now weighs 170 and is tall as I am and that’s just in that length of time. He completely has been restored to normal and you’d never know anything was the matter with him. We were just in in February for a cat scan with Dr. Woosley and he said everything is perfect. He said he doesn’t even have to come back for three years, is it? Three years. Now what they discovered was that it was a brain tumor.

Right, on the right side of his brain, right back here on the part that controls your coordination. Your motor function, I guess. Yes. And so it was … Helps you to walk and move your arms. He passed every coordination test that they gave him. That’s what was so unusual about it. God was even working with him even with the problem. He shouldn’t have been, as large as the tumor was, etc., he shouldn’t have been able to pass those coordination tests. And he could pass every coordination test they gave him.

That’s one of the reasons they had a little trouble discovering it. And once they discovered it they were able to handle it. But I want to talk about, instead of talking about him, he got his, I want to talk about doctors and nurses and the hospital. I was sitting there listening to Dr. Winslow and the nurse and David talk, and by the way, David was right there praying with us …

How God Turned It Around by Richard Roberts

How God Turned It Around by Richard Roberts

Richard Roberts wants to share something to you.Wait a minute. Now I said it, there it is, right there, the bottom one. This is what this woman called the program. I’m glad you kept that in my Bible. She said, “Thank you for an uplifting Holy Spirit filled, down to earth and up to heaven program.” Praise God, I like that. Down to earth and up to heaven. Down to earth and up to heaven. Heaven came down. And I think that’s appropriate for this song, “Heaven Came Down” and glory filled my soul. Let’s welcome the Oral Roberts University Singers.

I remind you if you’d like to have that record, you can write me, Richard Roberts, Tulsa, Oklahoma. Or you can call the Abundant Life Prayer Group, plant a seed for the record or the cassette and I’ll send it to you. And also to remind you if you have a prayer request, call the Abundant Life Prayer Group right now. Let us know what your name is, what your request is, and I’ll pray. I’ll believe and I’ll expect something to happen to you, something good … to happen to you. Right now I want to introduce my very special guests today, Ken and Lynette Hagin.

Ken, God bless you. Lynette, bless you. Ken and Lynette, something very unusual happened in your family two years ago that involved your son Craig and involved the City of Faith. Would you share what happened and go into the details of it and let people know the bad side and what God did about it, how God turned it around.

All right, I’m going to let her talk first. You start, Lynette. Well, we attended the dedication of the City of Faith in 1981. And we thought it was such a glorious thing to have a hospital, you know, with prayer and medicine together. And little did we know that October, that two years later in January that we, that our son would be a patient at the hospital. Do you want to tell him, you were the one that discovered.

Well, I discovered Craig on a Tuesday morning. He had screamed real loud, one of those “Daddy” kind of calls, but you know distress. Now how old was Craig at the time? Let’s see, two years, he was 13.

And at four o’clock in the morning it came ringing through the intercom from his bedroom and I … You knew it was one of those kind of screams that meant, get out of bed and get in there quick.

Heaven Came Down by Richard Roberts

Heaven Came Down by Richard Roberts

Richard Roberts wants to share something to you. We’re looking for the same kind of a nurse, a nurse who wants to be a part of a healing team. We are a healing team at the City of Faith. It’s as important what Melanie does or David does as it is what I do. It’s not important that I’m a physician, she’s a nurse, or David is a prayer partner. What’s important is that we’re a team connected together through the love of God to deliver all of God’s healing power to you as a patient.

So if you’re a nurse or perhaps you’re a minister who really feels called to do something different, or a physician, this is a place where you can do something different. You can minister to the whole person. We want you to come and join us. You can call the Prayer Group and give them your number and they’ll get it to me or they’ll get it to the nurse recruiting group or they’ll get it to Duie Jernigan in charge of the prayer partners. We are making a difference in people’s lives and we want you to come join us.

Praise God for that. Someone is receiving a healing in your right wrist, even right now while we’re talking. The Spirit of God is SU03 moving in this program today. My special guests today are Ken and Lynette Hagin. Ken and Lynette’s son Craig had a fantastic experience through prayer and medicine here at the City of Faith, and I’m going to ask them to share that story, a real life testimony of what God did for a young man here at the City of Faith.

Jim and Melanie and David, God bless you. Right now Richard Roberts isĀ  going to introduce the Oral Roberts University Singers who are going to minister in song. And they’re going, what are you going to sing? Can’t hear you? “Heaven Came Down.” Lindsay, what did that woman say in her letter the other day, she said, “I watched”, I wish I had a copy of that. “I watched your program and”, do you have it in my Bible?

Word of Knowledge by Richard Roberts

Word of Knowledge by Richard Roberts

Well, I don’t like to see people abuse their body.I don’t either. It’s the only one we’ve got. And cigarette smoking is the that’s right and have you noticed that you live in your body seven days a week, 24 hours a
day?

You know, people panic when they get sick, but they don’t realize that all along they can do something to take care of their body. You can’t just, God said He wished we’d prosper and be in health. That means in a continuous, continual state of good health, rather than get sick and get an instant healing and get sick and get an instant healing. I don’t think that’s how He set our bodies up. I think He wanted our bodies to continuously live in a state of health. And that requires our job, our work. You need to exercise and take care of yourself.

Well. Dear Richard Roberts, as I was watching your program I decided to see just how much money I was spending on cigarettes. I was shocked when it totaled $37.50 a month. So I rounded it off to an even $40. I’m quitting and I’ll be sending you that money as a Seed-Faith gift every month. Praise God. Her lungs will thank her.

And use it in whatever way you need it the most. Well, praise God. We’ll put it into the healing ministry. Lindsay, there are testimonies here. Here’s a call from Dearborn, Michigan. As we prayed with the Abundant Life Prayer Group prayer partners, the pain in my left ankle, all Louisiana, and this happened during the program yesterday. Here’s is Kevin Gaston out of New Orleans, Louisiana.

Kevin said, “Richard Roberts had a word of knowledge on the program yesterday someone’s ear was being healed and my ear has been healed right during the program. (Praise God) Here’s a call here from Tulsa. “Richard had a word of knowledge about someone hurting in the back of their neck and across the back of their shoulders. That was me. God healed all my pain. My neck and my shoulders are free from pain and I’ve not had a pain since you prayed.” Praise God for that.

By the way, if you have a prayer request, I urge you to step to your
phone and call the Abundant Life Prayer Group, area code 918-495-7777. The Abundant Life Prayer Group is on duty right now, seven days a week, 24 hours a day. They’re ready to pray for you.

Your Body is the Temple of the Holy Spirit by Richard Roberts

Your Body is the Temple of the Holy Spirit by Richard Roberts

And, Lindsay, I, Richard Roberts, have a wonderful letter that I received from a woman in Bradenton, Florida. “Dear Richard Roberts, watching you for the first time and wondering if it was all real. I soon found out it was truly the working of the Holy Spirit. You said thatsomeone’s right wrist was being healed. I had my right wrist injured by falling on it. I’d been believing for the healing of my wrist, but I had not had anyone pray for it.

As soon as you prayed and spoke out that word of knowledge, I started to twist my wrist–how do you like that, twist my wrist–all around. How I cried with joy at having no pain. I had to use my left hand for many tasks before, but now my wrist is completely healed. Enclosed is my Seed-Faith gift for $10. (Praise God) Now listen to this. Thank you for an uplifting, Holy Spirit-filled, down-to-earth and up-to-heaven program. Say that again. Thank you for an uplifting, Holy Spirit-filled, down-to-earth and up-to-heaven program. I like that.

I like that. Lindsay says, it’s the greatest program on television. Keep
going. Well, I give God the glory. We don’t take the glory. We give Jesus Christ the glory for the miracle in your wrist. (That’s right) And the other day someone had asked me if I would pray for people who wanted to give up cigarette smoking, Lindsay, and we just had a whole program (We did) praying for people who wanted to give up cigarette smoking. And I’m not, don’t misunderstand me, I’m not against smoking for a religious reason. It has nothing to do with religion. (That’s right, it’s your lungs.) I don’t, I’m interested in saving your lungs.

I’m not against cigarette smoking. I’m against lung cancer. (That’s right) The number one cause for lung cancer in the United States is cigarette smoking. And I don’t believe that, you know, you’re going to go to hell because you smoke. No, you’re going to smell like you’ve been there. You know, it’s not going to keep you out of heaven.

Your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. You need to take care of your body.
