The word of knowledge works by Richard Roberts

Well, during the service Lindsay Roberts was praying for people who had problems with their legs, and there was a girl who had come into the service.  She was a teenager, and some months earlier she had broken her leg.  They had set it and put it in a cast, and when they took the cast off, the bone had not healed properly, and her leg was crooked.  And they had put a brace on her; huge brace that went all the way from her hip to her ankle.  I had never seen a brace, just a huge brace.  And God gave me a word of knowledge about someone who had this crooked leg, and they still had the brace on it.  And He even told me that it was broken and didn’t heal properly.  And I said, “God is healing you.”  Well, this girl jumped up and came down with her mother.

Oral Roberts laid my hands on her, and much to my amazement, she reached down, and she and her mother took the brace off; big brace, I mean the brace was this long.  And she set it aside, and the platform was about this high, and much to my amazement, she jumped off the platform.  And she began to run up and down the aisle.  Her leg had turned completely straight.  There was no more problem with the bone.  It was obvious a miracle had happened.  Now, you Canadians are a little more demonstrative than the British are.  They British, you know, kind of sit there with their arms folded, but they got excited.  It’s the first time I’d ever seen a British crowd stand up and cheer.  This girl got healed.

Well, there were many, many miracles that night.  Many people gave their hearts to the Lord when I gave the invitation.  And it was late, probably eleven o’clock when I finished, and I remembered I’d given my word to this man to let him interview me.  Somebody has a crooked left foot.  You have a crooked left foot, and God is healing you right now.  Whoever you are, examine your foot.  So, we went in the back room, and he began to interview me, and would you like to know what his first question was?  He asked me, “Dr. Richard Roberts, how does the word of knowledge work?”  Well, I didn’t know how to answer him, because I knew that he wouldn’t understand how God works.

Oral Roberts University – And I was sitting there trying to decide how I was going to answer his question, knowing that it was going to be butchered and put in the London newspaper the next day; when the Holy Spirit spoke to me, and said, “Don’t answer his question, instead ask him how long he has had arthritis in his shoulder.”  So I did.  I asked him, “How long have you had arthritis in your shoulder?”  He said, “How did you know about my shoulder?”  I said, “Well, just put your pad and pen down, and just start moving your shoulder.”  And he just, he just started putting his shoulder up, all the way around, big smile came on his face.  He said, “Richard Roberts, … What did you do?”  I said, “I answered your question.  That’s how the word of knowledge works.”
