God is a Healing God

Richard Roberts Comments Off

SPRR RICHARD ROBERTS I’m holding in my hand a brand-new album by a concert pianist named  SU03 Nathan DiGesare, and this record is available in bookstores and record stores across America.  And Nathan is here to bless you with a concert pianist performance that I believe is going to be a blessing to you. Nathan, are you standing by?  I see cameras moving.  They never know what I’m going to do on this program and they never know when I’m going to do it.  Nathan DiGesare.  Give him a great welcome as he ministers the gospel in song.

SPKM NATHAN DiGESARE  SONG Piano_Solo

SPRR RICHARD ROBERTS Magnificent, Nathan.  Give him a great welcome.  Nathan, come and join us.  God bless you for your music, Nathan.  Please, please join us.  You feel the Spirit of God while he’s playing.  Thank God for you.  Let’s take these moments before we close our program today and let’s pray.  We only have about a minute and a half.  But it only takes a moment for God’s power and His presence to go right through this television camera, right where you are.  The Bible says,  SR02

“The power of the Lord was present to heal.” ( RR_Luke_05:17 ) Well, He hasn’t changed.  He’s still the same, yesterday, today, and forever.  And if He ever had power, He still has power now. And I’ll  PRRR tell you, He is the power source.  Friend, in the name of Jesus, I come against the Satanic attack in your life.  I come against the fear, the discouragement.  I come against the loneliness, the bitterness, the brokenness.  I come against that hurt in your life and I pray for you to be healed by the power of God.  Let the world know that God still heals today.  If somebody has told you that God’s lost His power, they are lying to you.

God is a healing God.  He’s a saving God.  He’s a delivering God. He has power.  His power is present to heal you now.  In the name of Jesus, receive your miracle.  Receive your healing today. Receive Christ as your Savior.  Receive a new attitude, a new change, a new deliverance in your body, in your mind, in your spirit, in your family, yes, in your finances as you sow a seed and expect God to multiply it back to you.  Thank you.  Thank you.  Thank you, Heavenly Father.  Thank You.  Peter, Ann, Isaac, thank you for being with us.  Nathan, thank you for being our guest today.  Thank you, Dr. Cho, for being with us from Korea. Remember, you can still get your Venture Into Faith tape by sowing your seed of $100 on your credit card or by sending a check.  Let me know you want it.  Till we see you tomorrow, no matter what it looks like, God can turn it around for you.

Kingdom of God

Richard Roberts Comments Off

SPRR RICHARD ROBERTS Halleluia, that’s worth everything.  And I welcome you today to the campus of Oral Roberts University, the City of Faith Health Care Center, the Healing Outreach Center right here in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Welcome to Richard Roberts Live. This program today is designed to help you get needs met in your life.  And if you have a need, I urge you right now to stop what you’re doing for a moment, pick up your telephone and call the Abundant Life Prayer Group, area code 918-495-7777.  The Abundant Life Prayer Group prayer partners are ready to receive your call right now.  They are on duty 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. 918-495-7777.  While you’re writing that number down, I want to give you some dates to write down –  June 23, 24, and 25. That’s the dates for the fourth annual Oral Roberts Ministers Conference in association with the Charismatic Bible Ministries Fellowship and that’s the fastest-growing fellowship in the nation. More than 2,500 ministers are already a part of it.  Later in the program my dad will be here to tell you how you, as a minister, can be a part of that great conference.  But right now I want to take you back to last year’s conference and let you see what God did so that you will know what to expect to happen during this upcoming conference.  So just watch this.    AD04 (ROLL-IN) Highlights from the 3rd annual Ministers Conference.  (APPLAUSE)

SPRR RICHARD ROBERTS  SU01 Let me tell you, if you want to be involved in something exciting, the fourth annual Oral Roberts Ministers Conference June 23, 24, and 25, in association with the Charismatic Bible Ministries Fellowship.  Let me tell you, it is for you if you are a minister of the gospel in any way, shape, form, or fashion.  It is for you.  And I’m going to ask my dad who is my special guest today to explain a little bit about it. He and I are joined today by Dean Clarence Boyd, dean of students of ORU, Lindsay is here, Cheryl Prewitt Salem is here, and I have other guests coming later in this program.  Give them all a good welcome. (APPLAUSE)  Dad, we’ve been talking about the Ministers Conference upcoming this next June in association with the fastest-growing fellowship in America, the Charismatic Bible Ministries Fellowship God led you to organize.  Can you share a word about it?

SPOR ORAL ROBERTS Well, I think the important thing to hold up in front of your mind is that it is a fellowship; it is not a denomination.  We have many denominations in the world and each is fulfilling its own part in the kingdom of God.  But there is a tremendous need for ministers like myself and others across this land to come together in the fellowship in the Holy Spirit, unity and love through signs and wonders.  So we organized what we call the Charismatic Bible Ministries.  People from every walk of life, some from denominations, some from independent groups, but all of them ministering in the charismatic power of the Holy Spirit and desiring a fellowship where they could come and not transsect official church business but to get down to loving and praying and fellowshipping and strengthening each other so that as we each go back to our own ministry calling we have a greater anointing, we have more understanding of how to win souls, to heal the sick, to cast out devils, and to love as Jesus loved. Now the Charismatic Bible Ministries will meet in conjunction with the Oral Roberts fourth annual Ministers Conference June 23, 24, and 25 — a Tuesday, a Wednesday, and a Thursday — and I officially and lovingly invite you to come.  There are no fees. Hotels are near the campus and many of them are giving special rates.

You can make your reservation by writing me, Oral Roberts, Tulsa, Oklahoma.  Or you can pick up your phone and dial that number on your screen, 918-495-7777, and say, “Make me a reservation.”  Some 7,000 were here last year and we’re expecting a great number this year.  And some of the greatest charismatic leaders of the world will be sharing their ministry with you — how to build a great church, how to have a healing ministry, how to use the gifts of the Spirit, and how to come together in love. It’s going to be exciting and I invite you to be here.  I’ll be sharing my ministry, the secrets of the Lord’s call upon my life. I want you here and I’m expecting you.  (APPLAUSE)

Encouragement Can Mean Everything

Richard Roberts Comments Off

My older brother Vaden recently went to be with the Lord.  When I was asked to preach at his funeral service, I began to think back on our lives together as brothers.  Precious memories flooded my mind.

I was blessed to be born into a family with parents who really loved me and loved God with all of their hearts.  Vaden and I were the last children at home after our older brother Elmer and our sister Jewel got married, and we were especially close.

Growing up, I was a stutterer, and I was often the object of other children’s ridicule.  In the midst of that, Vaden became my protector and encourager.

The hardest day of my life was the day I started school.  The teacher called on me to say my name.  I stood up and tried to say Granville Oral Roberts, but the words choked in my throat—I couldn’t get them out.  The children and the teacher laughed at me, and when they did a terrible thing happened on the inside of me.

But my brother Vaden led me outside the school and said some prophetic words to me:  “Oral, some day you’ll talk and you won’t stutter.”  Not only did Vaden protect me from the bullies, but he constantly spoke words of life to my mind and heart.  He gave me something to hold on to.

At age 17 I was brought home from a basketball tournament in the final stages of tuberculosis.  My parents tenderly cared for me, and it was through their love and prayers that I came to accept Jesus as my Savior.

Later Jewel spoke words that gave me hope.  She said, “Oral, God is going to heal you.”  Then Elmer drove me to a healing service in a borrowed car.  He had to carry me inside because I had lost the power to walk.

Building A Foundation of Love

Richard Roberts Comments Off

Keep a Balanced Marriage

RR: Lindsay and I believe that strong families start with a loving relationship between husband and wife.  God said, The husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church (Ephesians 5:23 NIV).  And that Scripture goes on to say that a husband must love his wife as Christ loves the church (v. 25).

That’s doesn’t mean that a man rules his own kingdom as a dictator and can run over his wife’s opinions and desires.  As the head of the family, he is commanded by God to love his wife with the same kind of love that Jesus loves the Church…and Jesus gave His life for the Church.

LR: Nowhere does the Scripture say that one spouse is responsible for doing all the work or making the other one happy.  God set up marriage so husband and wife have equal rights and responsibilities.  It’s balanced.

RR: Marriage is a two-way street.  The Bible says, The husband should please his wife… The wife should please her husband (1 Corinthians 7:3 NLV).  That means they should take care of each other.

Every Family Is Unique

LR: Not all families have a mom and a dad and two kids.  After my father died our family consisted of my mom, my brother and sister, and me.  We had to function as a family unit without having a physical father as the head of our household.

Mom had the mindset, This is who we are, and we’re going to continue to function as a family.  She claimed Psalm 68:5 which says that God is a father of the fatherless, a husband to widows.

You may feel that if one parent is gone, the family can’t go on.  But I believe God can give you the ability to function as a family in whatever situation you’re in.

If you’re raising children alone, I encourage you to lean on God with all your strength.  When my mother didn’t know what to do at times when we were growing up, I remember her praying, “Lord, these are your children.  I know you can show me what to do.”  And He did!  I believe He can do that for your family too.

It’s Never Too Late to Pray

LR: Never underestimate the power of your prayers as a parent.  My mother began to pray God’s will over my life from the moment she knew she was pregnant with me. But it’s never too late to begin.

If your children or spouse are not in right relationship with God, I encourage you to pray for them and declare God’s Word over them every day.  And don’t ever give up  It may take a lot of time and prayers.  But I believe we can reap in due season…if we don’t give up. (Galatians 6:9).

RR: Lindsay and I want to pray this prayer with you over your family right now and join our faith with yours in expecting miracles in your home and family.

Father, thank You for every family that is reading these words.  Thank You that we can become part of Your family when we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior.  Help us make and keep a strong commitment to You and to each other.  And Help us raise up our children in the way they should go, so that when they are old they will not depart from it. We decree and declare that and claim that we can have a strong, happy family.  In Jesus’ name. Amen.

The Ultimate Gift

Richard Roberts Comments Off

When Rev. George Munsey laid his hands on me at the service and prayed the prayer of faith, suddenly my lungs opened up and I could breathe again!  Words began flowing out of my mouth, and for the first time, I could speak clearly!  I was gloriously healed!

During the next year, Vaden and others in my family spoke words of encouragement into my life, telling me that now I really could amount to something.  They believed in the call of God on my life.

Vaden loved God but had never accepted Christ as his Savior.  Once, after I had begun my healing ministry, I was in the middle of a service and saw a man come walking down the aisle toward me.  As he got closer, I realized it was Vaden.  He threw his arms around me and began weeping, saying, “Oral, I want to accept Christ…and I can’t wait until you finish preaching!”

Vaden was gloriously saved that night.  I was able to help lead my brother–who had spoken such encouragement into my life–into the greatest miracle of all, eternal life.

The last time I saw Vaden he said, “Oral, I’ve got to go,” as he pointed upward.  “You know what that means, don’t you?  I’ll meet you on the other side.”  I said, “Yes, Vaden.  I’ll meet you there because we both have Jesus and eternal life.”

Many people don’t know the power of encouragement, especially to someone who is sick or hurting in some way.  The Bible teaches that the words we speak can be a powerful source for bad or for good.  According to Proverbs 18:21, Death and life are in the power of the tongue.  Let’s make the words we speak a source of good to those around us.

Encouragement can mean everything to your life.  I know.  Because it meant everything to me.

Let’s Give Ourselves A Break

Richard Roberts Comments Off

Even when we’re our own worst enemy, God is still our best friend.   And He Who has begun a good work in you will complete it. (Philippians 1:6 NKJV)

One day when Jordan was just a baby, I went out the back door of our house to my car that was in the driveway.  As I got in the car, I remember thinking, “Now something’s missing.  What is it?”  And suddenly, I realized, “It’s the baby!  Go get the baby!”

I had forgotten to put Jordan in the car because I was a new mother and I wasn’t used to having a child.  Now I was only a few steps away from the house where Jordan was.  It was a really dumb thing I did, and thank God nothing bad happened to my child.

But I can’t tell you how much and how long I persecuted myself over that.  I thought I had to be the worst mother who had ever lived!  Day and night the devil tormented me and I tormented myself about what a terrible person I was.

Don’t help the devil

And then I realized, hey, this needs to stop! I made a mistake, I repented to God, and I asked Him to help me think clearly and with the mind of Christ.  But it led me to realize how quickly we can begin to be a “help” to satan in beating ourselves up emotionally.  If we’re not careful, satan can use us to abuse ourselves!

I think that all of us, as women, have done that to ourselves at one time or another because we are more emotionally made.  But I want you to know today that the spirit of persecuting yourself and beating yourself up is not from God.   The God of the Bible is not a God of persecution, but a God of love and forgiveness…a God who wants to give you a new start in your life.

You’re Not a Failure

We all make mistakes every day. I was reading a book recently about Thomas Edison, and I learned that along his way to inventing the light bulb he made 6,000 mistakes!  But when someone would remind him that he’d been a failure 6,000 times, he never agreed with that statement.  He always said, “No.  I just learned 6,000 ways not to make a light bulb!”

Failing doesn’t make you a failure! When you go to bed at night, you can get on your face before God and say, “Lord, I’m sorry for the mistakes I’ve made today.  Please give me a new start tomorrow and help me do it right.”  And according to the Word of God, He not only forgives your sins, or mistakes, He also forgets them (Micah 7:19).

No condemnation in Christ

Once you’ve given your mistakes to God, it’s important to remember that He has forgiven you and given you a new start.    When the devil tries to make you feel guilty for your past, hold fast to God’s promise in Romans 8:1, which says there is now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus.

I believe that when we keep a positive, Word-centered, determined attitude and allow God to work in us, He can complete the good work He has begun in all of our lives.

And if God is for us, who can ever be against us? (Romans 8:31 NLT).

RR: Had surgery on her knee. Here is James calling from New Hampshire, I believe it is. “I had surgery on my knee recently and I was told by the doctors up here that it would not completely heal. And they were right, I could not even walk up steps. But today”–now this was yesterday–”today, Richard, you gave a word of knowledge that a knee was being healed, someone who had had surgery. All the pain is gone and now I can run up and down stairs.”

LR: That’s right. Hallelujah…

RR: That was yesterday. (Praise God) Praise the Lord. Here’s another one about surgery. “Richard, you said on the program today that someone had just had surgery on the knee. It was me. I know you were talking about me, so I got up and began to walk. I accepted it. I received it and now my knee is feeling much better.” Praise God.

LR: Hallelujah, God…(Applause)

RR: Here’s a wrist healed. Oh, here’s a financial miracle. Oh, I thank God for financial miracles. Miami, Florida. Rosemary says, “I planted my seed last week into your healing ministry. I needed a financial miracle. Yesterday, unexpectedly, I received $229 in the mail. This is the first time I have ever received a financial miracle opened up the Healing Outreach Center. The first day 1,200 people went through it, the second day 980 people, the third day 1,000 people, the fourth day nearly 1,000 people. I’ll tell you, people are coming from everywhere to see this new first phase of the Healing Outreach Center and the Journey Through the Bible. And right now I want to take you down to the Healing Outreach Center and just let you hear from some of the people about what they feel and what they are saying about the first phase of the Healing Outreach Center and the first phase of the Journey Through the Bible.

LADY: I just really felt like we were walking out of the earthly surroundings and into the reality of God and Jesus Christ when we walked even into the first room. I really felt, you can just really sense how the Lord has anointed and touched all these aspects of technology to be used for His glory and to be able to reach mankind as they go through there. I sensed that and I was sorry it was over.

LR:  That shows how important things are.

RR:  Doesn’t that show you how important it is?  (Applause)

LR:  Yes.  Yes.  Amen.

RR:  Where else can you tune in where they’re, where people are praying for the sick every day.  This is important.  And I need your help.  That signal goes up and then come back down and without that little clystron–I never heard anything called a clystron before.  I

LR:  And there’s a backup.

RR:  Well, there is a backup.

LR:  They told me that the backup–this is the thing I didn’t know–that the one that is out I knew they said had about a week to either.  The backup they said would last about a month.

RR:  Well, the other one only has about a month to live or so. The miracle is that it’s lasted for six years.  The warranty–you know, we hold our equipment together with prayer, good maintenance and anointed baling wire.

LR:  Really, the truth is that this–people may laugh, but this is the truth–we pray over every piece of equipment.

RR:  Every piece of equipment.

LR:  We pray every day over the lighting.  We pray over the microphones.  We pray over the sound, that we will get the most possible use out of them, that God will bless our equipment.

RR:  Lindsay, we had cameras that were 12 years old.  The average life of a camera is eight years old.  They lasted for 12 years. Take a picture of all of our new cameras.  You, you helped us sponsor these brand-new cameras.  There they are.  Give them a handclap.  You see these brand-new cameras.  (Applause)  This past year–well, let’s see, in November, December and January I raised a project for brand-new cameras.  We don’t take advantage of things like that.  You know, maybe, well, we just don’t do that.  We used the cameras for 12 years. The average life is eight years.  We have good maintenance engineers. And, in fact, look, that’s just one of the cameras.  Those are some of the names of people.  On every camera I put the names of people who sponsored them.  I’m big on putting the, putting people’s names on things that they sponsor.  (Applause)  You can see it right there.  On all these cameras, if I took the time to show you every camera, on both sides you’d see names, names of men and women and young people who sponsored it.  Well, if you want me to, I’ll put your name on that clystron.  I’ll put your name up in that satellite room.

LR:  And we’ll do it.

Richard Roberts LIVE with Guests Bill and Kim Nash Part Five

Richard Roberts Comments Off

MAN: I was a little bit leary about coming in at first because I thought they were going to try to sell Jesus Christ. But this in particular has really ministered to me, especially in the last room I really enjoyed. Going through the technology of it all amazed me, but to see the down-to-earth reality of it, how it could really minister to people individually. And just going through it was exciting.

LADY: Gives you more information about how the Bible really goes and it isn’t, it doesn’t tell you like, you know, how people think it’s boring, I already know the story in the Bible. I thought it was really neat because it shows you exactly what God wants, His plan for your life, how Noah went through the ark and He obeyed His words.

LADY: Then after the flood was a very good room because it made you know that there is a new life now and that we all have new life. The end of the tour was really super because it gave everyone an opportunity if you weren’t a Christian, maybe this will be the only opportunity that some people have. They maybe don’t go to church or something, but if they go through here they will have an opportunity to know Jesus. They would have an opportunity to give their life to Christ.

LADY: I could feel the Holy Spirit through the whole thing, especially the first part of it, the creation, the vastness of everything, I mean, is what touched me the most. I’m sure it’s going to be more wonderful with each thing that’s added to it. I’m looking forward to it and believing that God’s going to bring us back here, that we’re going to see it all. I’m sure anybody, you know, that doesn’t know Christ as Savior, I mean, how they could go in and see this and know, has ever picked up a Bible and read it, realize that this isn’t anything fantasy. It’s true. I mean, myself, I believe had I not known Jesus as Savior, I would have accepted Him right there. I’m sure there’s going to be many people that’s going to be won to the Lord through this.

LADY: It’s a great place to take your loved ones. (Applause)

RR: It certainly is a great place to take your family. The Healing Outreach Center, the Journey Through the Bible in its first phase is opened Monday through Saturdays, 9-6, and Sundays 1-5. So make your way to Tulsa. If you live in the Tulsa area, come on out and tour the Healing Outreach Center and first phase of the Journey Through the Bible. I know it will be a blessing to you. Right now the Oral Roberts University Singers are going to minister a song, “How Majestic Is Your Name.” Give them a good handclap as they sing. (Applause)

Lord, What am I Praying About

Richard Roberts Comments Off

Lord, What am I Praying About by Richard Roberts

Let me say something. Your dad taught me something watching his show. He was talking about when he first went to the property out here and he began to pray in the Spirit and then he heard himself praying in the Spirit and then the Lord began to give him the interpretation. I never thought of something that simple. I had prayed in the Spirit for years but I never really thought to say, “Well, Lord, what am I praying about?” It was just, “Lord, you know what I’m praying. Whatever it is, bless it.” But your dad began to say to me that I could understand what I was praying in the Spirit and it was like turning on a lightbulb in my little mind. And now many, many times as I begin to pray in the Spirit, the Lord will begin to give back to me what I am to pray for and
what I am praying for in the Spirit and that’s exciting. That may sound like a little thing to you but it has turned me around.

It’s not little. Two things generally happen. One of two things generally happen with me when Richard Roberts pray in the Spirit. The first thing is that when I stop and pray in English, and I always do. I always stop and pray in English. One of two things generally happens. The first is I’m either saying in English what Richard Roberts have wanted to tell God but I just didn’t know how, or I am getting God’s response back to me. I’m getting information in my mind.

Now that’s the value of praying in the Spirit. If you’re a Christian, you already have the Holy Spirit inside you. You don’t have to go out and get someone who you already have. If you’d like to release your prayer language, our prayer partners are standing by to pray with you. If you’ve accepted Jesus as your personal Savior and you would like to begin praying in the Spirit our prayer partners….. I’ll tell you, not a day goes by that there are not several people that phone to learn how to release their prayer
language, to release the Spirit that is already in them. He, the Spirit, is inside you if you believed on Jesus. If you’ve not accepted Christ, in a few moments I’m going to lead you in a prayer. In fact, I think maybe we’ll just do that right now. We have just a few moments before our program ends. Jerry, I just feel led to ask you if you would lead the sinner’s prayer and help
someone who doesn’t know Jesus to come to Jesus right now.

If you’re watching today and you don’t know Jesus, the most important thing is that you realize the Bible says that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus Christ and believe in your heart God has raised him from the dead, you will be saved. So I want you to repeat these words with me if you want to meet Jesus today. Just say them out loud
